William Clarence Quesenberry, Jr., 83, of Hickory, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday March 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on August 8, 1941, in Roderfield, WV, he was the son of the late William Clarence Quesenberry, Sr. and Opal Maxine Wells Quesenberry. Bill was a member of Grace Chapel Global Methodist Church of Granite Falls. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a hard-working coal miner in the mountains of West Virginia for 30 years. After retiring from US Steel, he found a love for woodworking. He taught himself how to make beautiful pieces of furniture that his family will cherish forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Doug Quesenberry and his sister, Nancy Chadwick.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rose Marie Quesenberry of the home; two sons, Michael Wayne Quesenberry and wife Kathy, of Princeton, WV; Gregory Scott Quesenberry of Connelly Springs, NC; one daughter, Joanna Marie Belcher and husband Heath of Sherrills Ford, NC; he was a loving grandfather to 7 grandchildren, who loved their papaw dearly, Tierney Leigh Quesenberry, Delaney Elise Quesenberry Druggish, Brayden Farley Quesenberry, Shanley Faith Quesenberry, Alexander Scott Quesenberry, Nathaniel Heath Belcher and Grace Marie Belcher; and two sisters, Deborah Muncy and husband Danny, and Barbara Mayo.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday April 4, 2025, at Grace Chapel Global Methodist Church, with Rev. Phillip Hefner and Rev. Jim Evans officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00-1:00 P.M. at Grace Chapel Global Methodist Church.

My sincere condolences Rose to you and all the family regarding the recent death of Bill. Dan and I loved the time we spent with the two of you at many of the grandkids birthday parties, etc. we looked forward to seeing you both and loved the time we spent together.
