Mrs. Vickie Collins Chapman, 67, of Hickory passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at Wake Forest Medical Center following a courageous battle with Leukemia.
Vickie was born November 30, 1954 in Caldwell County to the late Ralph Collins and Phyllis McRary Collins. She worked at Ellis Hosiery and was a member at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Vickie will be remembered by her family as a wonderful grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Some of her favorite memories included traveling with her husband, Darrell, across the United States and a trip to Hawaii with her son. She was a proud breast cancer survivor for over ten years. Vickie was loving, selfless, and lived her life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Donald Gene Hagee.
Survivors include her husband Darrell Chapman of the home; sons, Todd Hagee and wife Julie Wilson of Hickory, and Kyle Hagee and wife Kellee of Hickory; stepchildren, Darrell Chapman, II and wife Angie of Bostic, and Rita Fay Rector and husband Terry of Morganton; fifteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Jason Collins (Candace), Rhonda Christie (Darrell), and Cynthia Frye (Steven).
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Friday, August 19, 2022 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alan Gaylord officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.

Vickie and I were good friends 1st—5th grade till we moved out of town. She was a great friend and I missed her so much when we moved. To her family, I am so sorry for your loss, even though I hadn’t seen her since we were kids, I know in my heart she was a very special lady, wife , mother, and Grandmother and good friends with many. God be with you all during your loss.
