Mrs. Rebecca Jean Poovey Curtis, 85, of Granite Falls passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation following a period of declining health.
Rebecca was born September 4, 1938 in Caldwell County to the late Lee Alonzo Poovey and Jessie Triplett Poovey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Cashion.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jack Curtis; sons, Rick Curtis and girlfriend Michelle Nico and Chris Curtis and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Kim Moser and husband Jason; Chris Curtis, Jr. and wife Roxishanne, Jack Curtis, III, Caylan Curtis, and Lucy Curtis; great grandchildren, Max Curtis, Atticus Curtis, and Aurora Curtis; and brother, Spencer Poovey and wife Peggy.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM at Concord Baptist Church.
A memorial service will follow, beginning at 5:00PM with Rev. Tom McDonald, Rev. Dan Keifer, and Rev. Jimmy Preachers officiating.

I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. It’s very hard to lose a parent because a part of you leaves with her. I pray the fond memories of her life and love will bring you comfort in the days ahead. Life and time keep people separated, but I do have good memories of our days in high school. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
