Mr. Paul Bumgarner, 86, of Granite Falls passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Paul was born January 23, 1937 in Wilkes County, NC to the late George Dewey Bumgarner and Gladys Church Bumgarner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tessa Bean.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Paula McKee and husband John of Hickory; grandchildren, Trent McKee and wife Lindsay of Lincolnton, Brianna McKee of Hickory, and Mason Bean of Hudson; great grandchildren, Colton Dula and Jaxson Dula; sister, Dorothy Hartley and husband Ted of Granite Falls; and nieces, Dianna Edwards of Greensboro and Terry Phillips of Granite Falls.
A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Friday, December 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Brian Dula officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.

My Dad was a good man. He was always a good provider and shared a lot of wisdom to me through the years. He was always there if I needed him and I will miss him terribly. I now have a hole in my heart that I know will never heal, but I will always remember his goodness and his love. I love you Dad!
The greatest grandpa anyone could ever ask for and one of the biggest influences in my life. He will surely be missed, but never forgotten. I love you Papaw.
