James David Chester, 63, of Lenoir, passed away Friday March 21, 2025 at the Cambridge House in Hildebran following a period of declining health.
James was born on March 12, 1962 in Caldwell County to James Floyd Chester and Nancy Ann Eller Chester, of Lenoir. He worked for Broyhill Industries, and was a N.C. National Guard Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Osborne Chester; his mother-in-law, Iris Poston Osborne; and two sisters, Betty Hill and Deborah Osborne.
Survivors include his children, Heather Chester and fiancé Tyler Austin of Hudson, Nathan Osborne and wife Alicia of Lenoir and Dustin Chester and fiancé Tori Crump of Gamewell; one brother, Bob Chester and wife Diane of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Trinity Denny of Lenoir, Hailey Jackson of Wilkesboro, Katelyn Chester of Lenoir and Emmalynn Chester of Gamewell; one great-grandchild, Sawyer Lefevers of Wilkesboro; and two sister-in-laws, Linda Townsend and Ruby McCoy, both of Lenoir.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Monday March 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls, with Rev. Floyd Perry officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00-5:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.
