Mr. Carl Lewis McRary, 80, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Carolina Caring, following a period of declining health.
Carl was born on May 20, 1943, in Caldwell County to the late Gertha McRary Fairchild. Carl was previously employed as a cabinet designer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertha McRary Fairchild and Stepfather Boyd Fairchild, an infant daughter, Carla McRary, and a nephew, Jimmy Settlemyre.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Gayle Lail McRary; a son, Jeffrey Todd McRary (Diana); one step daughter, Tamara Annas McRary (Richard McRary) ; three brothers, Danny Fairchild (Jane),Jerry Fairchild (Darlene), and Richard (Rick) Fairchild (Toni); grandchildren, Karly Frizsell (Taylor), Dylan McRary, Cody McRary, Alyssa Storie (Matt);great grandchildren, Sadie Frizsell, Kallie Frizsell, Dekata Turner; nieces and nephews, Ricky Settlemyer, Melissa Porter, Jamie Keller, Natasha DeMaio ,Richard Fairchild II (Becky); great nephews and nieces, Jordan Settlemyer, Jamie Porter and Richard Fairchild III, and a former sister in-law, Regina Roberts Fairchild.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church at 1:30 PM, with Rev. Scott Good officiating. Interment will follow at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the interment at Dudley Shoals Baptist Church.
