Winston Elliott Cook, age 8 weeks 3 days, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle being born prematurely at 29 weeks with a severe congenital heart defect.

Winston was born on December 26, 2022 at Levine Children’s Hospital to Tyler Stephen Cook and Mindy Knox Cook. He was such a strong boy who fought hard and impacted the lives of many people while only weighing 4 pounds.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Baysel Knox and JD Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tyler Stephen Cook and Mindy Knox Cook; sister, Millie Cook; grandparents, Jeff and Sandy Knox, and Rick and Faye Cook; aunts and uncles, Brian and Sarah Knox, Josh and Rachel Knox, Jenny and Scott Walker, Haley and Scott Skerjanec, Ben and Laura Cook, and James and Kansas Cook; cousins, Audrey, Chloe, Michael, Carter, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, Lincoln, Merrick, Axel, Oliver, Theodore, Oliver, Lily, and Maggie; great-grandparents, Sylvia Knox, Alice Williams, Betty and Robbie Cook, and Jim and Jean Stephens; and numerous other family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Fred B. Cranford Amphitheatre in Valdese. It is recommended that family and friends attending the memorial service bring their own chairs to ensure there is enough seating.
