Evelyn Hart Johnson, 97, of Hickory passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 at her residence.

She was born June 29, 1927 to the late Dewey Lee Hart and Esther Church Hart. Evelyn was a member of Community Chapel Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Alfred Johnson; siblings, Pearson Hart, Boyce Hart, Belva Berry, Blanche Price, and Della Price; daughter-in-law, Patricia Johnson; son-in-law, Alton Smith; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Johnson of Connelly Springs, and Keith Johnson (Nancy) of Maiden; four daughters, Fern Smith of Mt. Airy, Karen Johnson of Charlotte, Lynn Johnson of Granite Falls, Lisa Johnson of Granite Falls; and brother, Gary Hart (Hilda) of Connelly Springs, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens and officiated by Reverend Dean Hart. The family expresses thanks to Nikki, Hannah, Valerie, Sahara, Leslie, and Chaplain Rob Helton of Carolina Caring and a special thank you to Missy Jones.
