I just heard of Aunt Becky’s (aka Aunt Tobacco Juice) passing late Sunday night. I am so sorry to hear that and worse, that I didn’t know about her becoming ill until after her visitation service. I hope some one in the family sees this. Over the years we’ve drifted apart and that is to my eternal regret. I have so many fond memories of Aunt Becky going all the way back to her and “Nanny Violet” driving across the country to visit us in California – arriving with one arm deeply tanned and the other fish belly white (a consequence of no air conditioning and driving across the desert with one arm propped outside the window) and continuing well into my adulthood, including the time she stood in line for hours at Merlefest to get Earl Scruggs’ autograph and send it to me because I couldn’t make it to the festival. I will always remember her warmth and especially her smile and laughter.
The Senior Ladies Sunday School class of First Baptist Icard will miss our friend and member Becki. She was faithful to Bible study before her illness and she has been missed. We are praying for her family.’
Barbara and family, I am very sorry for your loss. Everyone will be held close in my heart today and the days to come.
