It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of 70 year old Ronnie Lee Reid of Granite Falls, NC.
Ronnie was born February 11th, 1954 to the late Everett and Charlene Reid in Granite Falls, NC where he successfully lived out his entire life. Ronnie died peacefully in his son’s home in Lincolnton, NC. while receiving palliative care surrounded by loved ones!
Ronnie graduated from Granite Falls High School Class of 1973 and while still in High School started working at Synthetics Finishing in Hickory, NC. Ronnie then went to work at Forest City Tools in Hickory, NC where he welded Carbite for approximately 20 years. He finished his working career at State Environmental Services where he drove a truck for approximately 10 years before retiring and spending time with family!
Ronnie was passionate about family, friends, riding his Harley and most of all going to Charlotte Motor Speedway every year with Chuck Ingle his best friend of 70 years his daughter Carla Ray and his race family! Ronnie always said, “we go to the race for the people, and if a good NASCAR race happens to occur, well that was a bonus”! Ronnie was known for his positive and laid back personality and was hilarious without even meaning to be!
Ronnie is survived by his two sons who were his best accomplishments in life, David Lee Reid 46 years old and Jeremy Lee Reid 44 years old and Jeremy’s wife Ashely Reid and their two children Paxton and Brody Reid. Ronnie spent 30 years with his partner and Love Susie Shuffler where they raised children, grand children and great grand children! Susie’s children include Sandy Swepson, Chasity Huffman, Randy Shuffler and his wife Michelle, and his late stepson Brian Shuffler. Their grandchildren included Brianna and Brody Reid, Harley Palacios, Dominique Patterson, Justice Patterson, Austin Lail, Braxton Jones, Mekesen Miller, Raven Shuffler, Austin Symons and Hailey Shuffler. They also have a total of 10 great grandchildren!
Ronnie chose to be cremated at Mackie High Funeral home of Granite Falls and a small memorial service will be held after the holidays for loved ones to share their love and condolences on February 8th 2025 at 1:30pm at Pursuit Church 3618 N Hwy 16 Business Denver, Nc 28037 officiated by pastor Jamey Green.
