Ronald “Ronnie” Joseph Estes of Granite Falls passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Brockford Inn Assisted Living Home in Granite Falls.
Ronnie was born October 26, 1944, in Caldwell County; a son to the late Fred Estes and Donnie Mathes Estes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lee Estes Harrold; and two brothers, Stephen Estes and Dale Estes.
Ronald was a graduate of Granite Falls High School and proudly received an honorable discharge after serving in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1972.
Loved ones let to cherish his memory are his sisters, Bobbie Frances E. Curtis, and Annie Rose E. Beal, both of Granite Falls; sisters-in-law, Nell Faye Estes of Newnan, Georgia, and Rebecca Fisher Estes of Granite Falls; along with a host of nieces, nephews, his entire Brockford Inn family, and friends.
A graveside service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Sunset Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Myron Davis officiating. Upon Ronnie’s request, he will be buried in his uniform and military honors will be presented by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends in celebration of his life following the service in the fellowship hall at Clover Baptist Church; where he was a member.
The family would like to thank his Brockford Inn Caregivers for their loving care and many acts of kindness extended to Ronnie since 2004 when he became a resident. Also, to Amorem Hospice of Caldwell for their care and special treatment since 2016.
