Nelson Joe Stallings Jr. “Joey” passed away Wednesday October 23,2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. He was the son of the late Nelson Joe Stallings Sr. and Patricia Moretz Puckett. Left behind to cherish his memory are his
daughters Harleigh Jovona and Elizabeth Grace, sons Carter Riley, Nelson Joe III, Hall Josiah, Goodin JohnMicheal, and Hemi Jove, widow Amber SlaughterStallings (Jessica), aunt Darlene Moretz, one brother John Stallings, and nieces Hailey Paige (Preston), Jacera, and Jalaina. Also left to cherish his memory is his lifelong best friend, Chad Byrd, and countless other family, customers, and friends.
Joe was an auto mechanic and owned and operated a garage for more than 30 years. He enjoyed riding Harley’s, hanging out with his friends and family and more than anything, loved his children. He enjoyed singing, laughing and telling jokes, listening to music, NASCAR, and wrestling! Joey was the kind of guy that you could call any time day or night and he would be there. He had a way of putting a smile on your face and hope in your heart on your darkest of days. His laugh was infectious, his sense of humor was contagious, and his words had a way of staying with you.
The family plans to have a Celebration of Life Saturday November 9, 2024 at Fresh Depot in Granite Falls, one of Joey’s favorite spots. A memorial ride is planned for the same day with details to come!
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Joey’s widow and children.
Mackie Funeral Service and Cremations is assisting the family.
