Modean (Mousie) Evelyn Yates, 78, of Hickory passed away on April 2, 2024.

She was born on March 26, 1946, to the late Cicero Yates and Emma Yates.

Modean was preceded in death by her parents; Cicero Victor Yates and Emma Pauline Yates; a sister, Elizabeth Lee Navey; and two brothers, Norman Ray (Cookie) Yates and Kent Yates.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Emily Miller (Deanna) of Troutman; granddaughters, Emma Brantley (Ricky) of Maiden, Jessica McGregor of Claremont, Laura Scott of Edinburg, Texas; a grandson, Allen Scott of Hickory; a brother Glenn (Sonny) Yates (Betty) of Hilderbran; a sister, Mary Sue Lumnah of Endicott New York; and seven great grandchildren.

A service will be scheduled at a later date.
