Michele Jones Grigg, age 80, entered the blessed rest of everlasting peace through Jesus Christ, our Lord, on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home in Hudson, NC.

Mrs. Grigg was born September 16, 1943 in Cleveland County to the late Jack Leonard Jones and Virginia Bessie Gladden Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Talmadge Grigg, brother Ricky Lynd Jones, grandmother Leona Beatrice Davis Jones (Grandma Jones), and aunt Ozelle Jones Harris.

Michele retired from Cleveland County School System, Burns Middle School, where she was a teacher assistant for ten years, impacting many students with her willingness to go the extra mile to ensure student’s success.

Michele had a witty sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could light up any room.  She was the life of the party and knew how to paint a picture with her ability to tell a story. Michele enjoyed reading, cross stitching, UNC Tarheel basketball, watching her grandchildren play sports, and baking pound cakes.

Michele was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She was a friend to all and MawMaw to many. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and their friends. Having the privilege to raise her grandson, Timothy Hamrick, was the greatest blessing and honor of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Greg Hughes of Hudson, NC, daughter Kimberley Grigg of Granite Falls, NC, son Scott Grigg of Gastonia, NC, grandchildren Mason and Catherine Hughes of Hudson, NC, Timothy Hamrick of Granite Falls, NC, aunt Emma Jo and Joe Anthony of Shelby, NC, and special cousins Connie Daman of Shelby, NC, Lisa Anthony Mason and husband Keith of Charlotte, NC, and Travis Hunnicutt and wife Cindy of Gastonia, NC, brother-in-law and wife Mike and Kathy Grigg of Shelby, NC, and sister-in-law Lynn Nanny of Wilson, NC.

The family would like to give a special thanks to friends Ally Johnson and Carolyn Hughes for their love and care to Michele and family throughout the years.

A graveside service will be held to honor Mrs. Grigg at a later date.
