Michael Eugene Dancy, 49, of Vale, formerly of Hudson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, following a period of declining health.

Michael was born on August 10, 1973, in Caldwell County to John Givens and the late Debbie Clark Givens. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hiking, off-roading in his Jeep, and playing horseshoes with his friends every Thursday. Michael was a loving, kindhearted person who never met a stranger. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a grandmother, Mildred “Nanny” Minton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 wonderful, beautiful years, Bobbie Massagee Dancy, of the home; children, Kendra Dancy Robinson (Duncan), Deanna Brooke Dancy, Justin Bryant Ekard, and Tyler William Ekard; father, John Givens; granddaughter, Harley Dancy; two sisters and numerous other family and friends.

No services are scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mackie Funeral Service at 35 Duke Street, Granite Falls, NC 28630 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
