Michael Douglas Chandler, 74, of Lenoir passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at Carolina Caring Hospice following a period of declining health.
Michael was born December 10, 1948 in Caldwell County to the late Lawrence Chandler and Shirley Wilson Chandler. He owned and operated Mr. C’s Truck Wash for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Patricia “Patty” Baker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Cathy Chandler Knepp and husband Ronald Keith of Hudson, and Dana Hicks and husband Jerry of Lenoir; sister, Beverly “Cindy” Collins and husband Terry of Iron Station; grandchildren, Dakota Dula and Ethan Hicks; brother-in-law, Charles Baker of Sawmills; niece, Carmen Jenkins and husband Keith of Lincolnton; and nephews, Jeffery Baker and wife Nancy of Sawmills, Tyler Collins and wife Jessica of Lincolnton, and Evan Collins of Lincolnton.
A funeral service was held 3:00PM Thursday, February 2, 2023 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Edd Warren officiating. The family gathered with friends an hour prior to the service.
Interment followed at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery. The family then met for a meal, generously provided by First United Methodist Church of Granite Falls.
