Mrs. Mary Ann Hollar Brown, 93, of Granite Falls passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Hickory Falls Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
Mary was born May 22, 1931 in Catawba County, NC to the late Kathleen and Prate Hollar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Brown, Sr.; son, George Brown, Jr.; grandson, Dustin Lee Brown; and brothers, Melvin Hollar and William Hollar.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert Wayne Brown and wife Rita of Lenoir, Paula Hentschel and husband Michael of Connelly Springs, and Floyd Dale Brown of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Marcus Brown and wife Kristy, Misty Dyson and husband Mark, and Brandon Hentschel; great grandchildren, Cassidy Kirby and husband Daniel, Gavin Brown, Trey Dyson, Keagan Brown, Brock Hentschel, and Oaklee Hentschel; great great grandchild, Sofia Kirby; special nieces, Jean Hunsucker and Brenda Pittman; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Michael Pardue officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.
Mary Ann had always called me to sing happy birthday every year of my life, she was my neighbor as far as I can remember. She was the sweetest lady but also sassy and we love that haha. She will be forever missed and I’ll be praying for the family with their loss
I am so very sorry for the loss of Mary Ann. She was a wonderful woman and so very strong.
She was a great neighbor and after many years I would stop in and see her at Hickory Falls and she still remember who I was . She will be missed
