Jordan Von Settlemyre, 32 formally of Valdese, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in McDowell County.
Jordan was born on July 8, 1992, in Valdese, NC to Hannah Abee Crouch and the late James “Jimmy” Settlemyre.
He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents, Buford and Betty Jo Abee, his step-grandfather, James A. Harris, and aunt, Lisa Abee McCall and a cousin, Robby Abee.
Survivors include his mother Hannah and stepfather, Mike Crouch of Granite Falls, paternal grandmother, Jane Fairchild (Danny) and paternal grandfather, Johnny Settlemyre (Karen) all of Granite Falls. Aso surviving are his uncle, Jerry Abee (Lori) of Havelock, NC, Keith Abee (Cheryl) of Valdese, and aunt Melissa Fairchild Porter and an Uncle Rick Settlemyre also of Granite Falls. Also left to cherish his memory are special cousins, Barbara Hall, Emma McCall, Erin McCall, Casey Abee, Fletcher Abee, Jamie Porter, Lauren Webb, Shelby Rainwater, Matt Odum and Jon Odum.
Jordan was a sports enthusiast who loved Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Nascar and Tarheels basketball. In his youth, he enjoyed participating in all sports and was very competitive.
The family will be at the home of his mother and stepfather in Granite Falls. A Service of Remembrance will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Rock Chapel Church of God. Rev. Nathan Leasure and Rev. Casey Fenn will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Mission Ministries Alliance Center for Men at P.O. Box 297 Marion NC 28752.

God introduced me to Jordon a few months ago and I was immediately drawn to him.
Jordon had a loving caring disposition about him and we talked many times of Jesus love for us and how not by coincidence he had brought us together.
I believe Jordon was saved by Gods Grace and just as many of us do, Jordon wandered from Jesus.
We talked about what purpose God could possibly have for the two of us to meet. I believe God saw that Jordons burdens was too heavy for him to bear and God through his mercies that endurieth forever called him home. Jordon told me how he was going to rehab to get help. I prayed for Jordons recovery
And God has answered my pray. Jordon is now free from this worlds bonds and suffering. He has a new life a perfect mind and body, he will dwell in the house of his Lord forever. My blessing is that God allowed us to meet and I know I will see him again.
