Mrs. Joann Hefner Sain, 88, of Hickory passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at her home, following a period of declining health.

Joann was born July 8, 1935, in Caldwell County to the late Midas Sidney Hefner and Toylee Hefner Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester Sain; daughters, Katherine Denise Sain and Skyla Nieves; grandson, John Russell Robbins; and step father, Roosevelt Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Rita Yount and husband John of Connelly Springs, and Cynthia Lowe of Hickory; grandchildren, Sheena Yount, Kayla Abernathy, Kristina Rose, and Miracle Lindsey; one bonus grandchild, Buffy Baker; and several great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday February 12, 2024, in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Danny Greene officiating.

Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, on Monday from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.
