Jane Eva Swanger Fairchild, 73, of Granite Falls, departed this life to her heavenly home on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at Carolina Caring following a period of declining health.

Jane was born on April 5, 1951, in Buncombe County, to the late James Carroll Swanger and Lois McKee Swanger. She was a homemaker, but most importantly she was a devoted wife, and a Godly mother and grandmother. Jane was a wonderful cook and blessed her family with many special meals. She was gifted with home interior design abilities and enjoyed taking care of her lawn and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Settlemyre and a grandson, Jordan Von Settlemyre.

Surviving is her husband, Danny Fairchild of Granite Falls; her son, Rick Settlemyre of Granite Falls; her daughter, Melissa Fairchild Porter of Granite Falls; her son, Todd Brinkley of Granite Falls and Hannah Crouch and husband Mike of Granite Falls; her granddaughter, Jamie Danielle Porter of Granite Falls; and one sister, Vickie Cline of Anniston, AL. Also surviving are three nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 25, 2025, at Temple-Hill Baptist Church in Granite Falls, with Rev. Charles Murrell officiating. Interment will follow at Temple-Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Temple-Hill Baptist Church.
