Harley Lee Barker ,59, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday September 5, 2023 at Amorem Hospice in Hudson following a period of declining health.
Harley was born July 25, 1964 in Caldwell County to the late Joseph Odell Barker and Edna Blackburn Clark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Barker and Joseph Odell Barker, Jr.; and an infant brother and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Nanette Barker of the home; son, Matthew Bumgarner of Lenoir; granddaughter, Lilly Elaine Bumgarner; and siblings, Martha Earp, Joann Clark and husband Larry, Jerry Barker and wife Judy, Clarriss Childers, Audrey Eckard and husband Larry Joe, Charles Barker and wife Sue, and Daniel Clark and wife Becky; and step-father Clayton Clark.
A funeral service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Wallace Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery with Steven Barker, Gary Barker, Tyler Dutton, William Blankenship, Jimmy Earp, and Raymond Bowers serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Nanette Barker to assist with expenses at 2512 Central Dr. Lenoir, NC 28645.

Praying for Nanette, Lilly and family. Harley always had a smile on his face. Harley was always there if we needed help and never said goodbye without a big hug and saying I love you. His shirt is a perfect example of his one of a kind personality. We love you Harley and are truly blessed to have known you.
