Mr. Floyd Carroll Pope, 84, of Hudson, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Amorem Hospice of Hudson, following a period of declining health.

Floyd was born on January 13, 1940, in Burke County to the late William McKinley Pope and Lucy Hargus Pope.  He was a retired fixer in the textile industry and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss. Floyd enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Libby Pope of the home, three daughters, Teena Wilds and husband Jimmy of Hudson, Tammy Pope of Morganton, and Tonya Bradshaw and husband Mike of Hudson. Also surviving are three brothers, Cecil Pope and wife Corinne, Johnny Pope, and Clifford Pope, four grandchildren: Mitchell Pope, Kaylin Bradshaw, Amelia Bradshaw, and Makinley Bradshaw, and two great-grandchildren, Jackson, and Jameson Pope.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Rhodhiss with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at the church.
