Florence Brown Lowman, 78 of Granite Falls, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 surrounded by her family following a period of declining health.

Florence was born December 3, 1944 in Burke County to the late Delkie Brown and Sally Kaylor Brown. She was not a materialistic woman, and she enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Florence worked in the textile industry until her retirement. She enjoyed tending to her garden, canning vegetables, her flower garden, and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Glenn Alan Lowman (Cherl), of Griffin, GA, and Joseph Andra Lowman (Tracie), of Granite Falls, NC; sisters, Marie Ingle (Robert), of Hickory, NC and Martha Hartley, of Hudson, NC; a brother, Roger Brown (Nancy), of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Hunter Lowman (Anna), Steven Rhoney, and Jeremy Rhoney (Ashley); granddaughters, Zoey Lowman, Willow Lowman, Olivia Lowman, and Rebecca Johnson (Aaron); great-grandchildren, Thomas, Wesley, Karoline, Raelynn, Brynlee and Michael; and friend Wayne Fairchild.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 7:30 PM in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with Rev. Dan Duke and Pastor James Lopes officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
