Mr. Felix Clark DeVier, 81, of Granite Falls, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at UNC Healthcare-Caldwell Memorial Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Felix was born on December 20, 1942, in Caldwell County to the late Paul Arthur DeVier and Helen Chester DeVier. He was a retired fixer for Shuford Mills and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Janie Hargett DeVier.
Survivors include his two children, Kathy Ann Smith and husband Tim, Richard Clark DeVier and wife Audrey, three grandchildren, Chris Smith, Brandi DeVier and Heather Norrod and husband Grant, and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Madelyn Norrod. Also surviving are two half brothers, Paul Keller and Ray “Possum” Keller; and sister Sue Keller.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service, with Rev. Allen Norrod officiating. A private interment will follow.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.

Our deepest condolences to the family. We loved coming by and waving to him while he sat on his porch, and always enjoyed buying cantaloupes from him and just talking. He was a very special neighbor.
