Mr. Ervin Theodore Cannon, 87, of Hudson departed this life to his heavenly home on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Amorem Hospice in Hudson.

Ervin was born September 25, 1935, in Caldwell County to the late Ralph and Merinda Turnmire Cannon.

He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was self-employed in the HVAC industry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hamby Cannon; two sons, James E. Cannon and Tony E. Cannon; two brothers, Ralph Turnmire and Wayne Cannon, and one infant sister.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Cannon (Lisa) of Belmont, NC and Chris Cannon (Shirley) of Hudson; a daughter-in-law, Judy Teague Cannon; seven grandchildren, Richard James, Joshua, Eric, Casey, Tyler, Robert and Lee; and one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Williams; brothers, Howard Cannon and Charles Cannon both of Granite Falls; sisters, Iva Lee Anderson, of Granite Falls, Shelby Jean Starnes of Granite Falls, Shirley Spears of Hickory, and Carolyn Miller of Granite Falls.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 4, 2023, in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with Rev. Ron Burgett officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00-2:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at Mackie Funeral Service.
