Eric Dewain Bowers, 60, of Connelly Springs died peacefully on October 3, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Eric was born April 16, 1964 to the late John Tyra Bowers and Nancy Westmoreland Bowers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Starr Bowers; children, Cody Roark of the home, Joshua Bowers (Ree) of Hickory, Tiffany Stroud (Paul) of Bethlehem, Stephanie Adams (Jeff) of Connelly Springs, Heather Adams of Hickory, and Kayla Bowers of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Nathan, William, Lane, Katie, Kathryn, Lynox, Caroline, Joey, and Caydance; and brother, David Powell of Forest City. He also leaves behind his dog, Punkin.
He loved being with his family, working, and playing drums. He had an undying love for music.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Poovey’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hudson.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00PM with the Rev. Mark Dula and Rev. Crockett Davidson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Eric asked that you make donations to Cardinal Kids Pediatric Hospice c/o Carolina Caring 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton, NC 28658.
Met Eric back in the Train Wreck days and had the joy to work with him a few years. Always thought the world of that man. Our prayers to Star and Cody. God’s work was complete so He called His child home.

I never know what to say at times like this because it brings back memories you don’t want to remember. Eric was a good man, husband, father and friend to so many. The one thing I can say that makes me smile is Eric and Booger are laughing it up in heaven and in no more pain which should make us feel better even though we miss them. So we can remember the good times and know they are together once again! I love you guys and my prayers are with you all!
