Edna Blackburn Clark, 89, of Lenoir went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 28, 2023, following a period of declining health.
Edna was born on February 8, 1933, in Ashe County to the late Harrison Blackburn and Katy Welch Blackburn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Barker; sons, Robert Barker and Joseph Barker, Jr.; infant son, Donnie Ray Barker; infant daughter, Donna Kay Barker; and siblings, Opal Pruitt, Ardna Gambill, and Earl Blackburn.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 42 wonderful years, Henry Clayton Clark; children, Jerry Barker (Judy), Charles Barker (Susie), Harley Barker (Nanette), Daniel Clark (Becky), JoAnn Clark (Larry), Martha Earp (Larry), Audrey Eckard (Larry Jo), Clariss Childers (Owen), and Tammy Swink; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church with Pastor Wallace Smith, Pastor Derick Lingerfelt, and Pastor Jerry Lingerfelt officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church.
Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church off Bradford Mountain Road in Lenoir with Steven Barker, Tyler Dutton, Elijah Dotson, Isaiah Lowman, Chris Clark, Jeremiah Swink, Gary Barker, and Shane Presswood serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church at 3580 Playmore Beach Road, Lenoir NC 28645 or to a charity of your choice in honor of Edna.
The family would like friends and family to know anyone who would like to visit in the coming days are welcome at the family home.
