Kathy, I’m so very sorry for this great loss. Your mother was an amazing woman and a mother to all us young ladies that crossed her path and were friends of her children or coached by her in our years of youth group activities. Like so many other youth that crossed paths with her the memories had are fond and more than I can potentially account for here. Yet, my favorite was how she stood up for youth and women’s rights and in doing so feared no man that walked this earth and did not mind stepping on toes no matter whose they were. For that, she is a great woman that I have always admired in my young heart of hearts and will never forget and hold dear to this day as one of the greats. I’ll never forget that it was your mom that took all of your friends to buy makeup weeks before it being again allowed and assuring we had our supply to use at church on the day it was announced it that we could use such vane products once again. Of course, she never thought it was wrong and taught us how to wear our makeup proudly like she had/did. Much love goes up to our beloved Momma Medford till we all meet her again in heaven above. God Bless your family in this time of the greatest of hearts loss.
Oh my Angie! I just saw that you had written this note! Thank you so much for your kind words about my mom. I will hold dear those memories because I had forgotten that about the make up. And it is so good to hear how she blessed all you girls, and was a strong example for us all. This brought me to tears thank you thank you so much.
I had the pleasure of working with both Alene and Dalton at Valdese Hospital. So very professional and kind, I always looked forward seeing them both.
