Cremation Services
When you choose Mackie Funeral Service and Cremations, we give you our dedication, professional service with personal care, and our commitment to provide a loving, dignified tribute that will honor the memory of your loved one. It is our policy to provide full information to the public about service arrangements, options, and prices.
Cremation has become a popular option for many people because it can be more flexible as to where and when you hold a service. You can have a traditional funeral service before a cremation or a memorial service at any time with or without the urn present. You can keep the urn, scatter the ashes or have the urn buried in a grave or columbarium where we can hold a service. Whether you choose burial or cremation, we’re here to offer you a meaningful ceremony.
Making Arrangements
At Mackie Funeral Service and Cremations, we want to make arrangements simple for you. Choosing cremation offers several choices for service and memorialization. We will help create a service that is most meaningful to you, your family, and friends.
A funeral held prior to cremation, may include a viewing, as with a traditional funeral, at our facilities or a church or other place of worship. A viewing lets friends and family offer their love and say a final goodbye. When a funeral is held after the cremation, the cremated remains (or “ashes”) are usually present at the service in a cremation urn or other container. You can surround the urn with cherished photos and important keepsakes of the person being honored to create a focal point that helps guests remember and celebrate your loved one’s life.
Final Resting Place
Cremation has the benefit of providing even more options for commemorating a life than traditional burial. Regardless of where the final resting spot is, many families like to have a personalized marker and physical place to visit and remember their loved ones. Some families bury cremated remains in a cemetery; others place them in a cremation niche in a church or mausoleum. Some people ask that their ashes be scattered in a personally meaningful place while others want a family member to keep the ashes at home.
No matter what choice your family makes, there is an opportunity to honor the life of your loved one with a ceremony memorializing the event.
When you choose cremation for yourself or a loved one, you have many options for commemorating a loved one. The type of service, cemetery property and cremation memorialization items such as urns and keepsake jewelry can all be customized to suit your needs. Mackie Funeral Service and Cremations offers a number of options from a more traditional ceremony joined by family and friends, to a private, meaningful service with your immediate family.
