Christopher Clayton Ward, 56, of Catawba passed away September 7th, 2023, following a period of declining health.

Christoher was born May 30th, 1967, in Catawba County, to the late Conley Ward and Eula Hicks Ward.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Debbie Gwyn Robbins and Sheila Ward; son-in-law, Richard Sustaita; son, Shane Hill; daughter, Tasha Naliena; and a nephew, Brian Gwyn.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Ward of the home; daughters, Heather Sustaita of Catawba and Kristie Ward of Catawba; sons, Clayton Ward (Laurie) of Catawba, Bobby Lewis of Cocke County, Tennessee, Segio   Medaz of Catawba, Randy Taylor (Mary) of Catawba; a sister, Teresa Hughes (Larry) of Conover; and sister Patricia Philbeck (Ricky) of Shelby.  He has 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Christopher loved his grandkids and his family.  He also loved racing at Hickory Motor Speedway.  He loved fishing and being outside.  He also had a love for Broncos.   He had a red 1989 red ford Bronco that was jacked up and loved to take 4- wheeling.

Service will be held later at Smyra Church in Catawba.
