Mr. Charles Everette Baker, 77, of Granite Falls passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Charles was born June 28, 1946, in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late Earl Baker and Ethel Davis Baker Earp. He was a longtime member of the Granite Falls United Methodist Church and was head of shipping for Sherrill’s Furniture for 46 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia” Patty” Chandler Baker, a brother, Tony Earl Baker and a granddaughter, Caitlin Renay Jenkins.

Surviving are his children, Carmen Baker Jenkins and husband Keith of Lincolnton, Jeff Baker of Granite Falls, grandchildren: Chandler Jenkins and wife Kayla, Landon Jenkins, Zachary Baker and wife Katie, and Conner Baker, and one great-grandson, Elliott Baker.  Also surviving are two brothers, Larry Baker and wife Mary of Connelly Springs and Ricky Baker and wife Barbara of Granite Falls, three sisters, Linda Piercy and husband Jerry of Granite Falls, Regina Reece and husband Gary of Taylorsville, and Anita Legg and husband Pete of Granite Falls, sister and brother in-law, Cindy and Terry Collins of Iron Station, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Granite Falls First United Methodist Church at 4:00 P.M., with Rev. Michael Harris officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery with Zach Baker, Chandler Jenkins, Landon Jenkins, Tyler Colins, Evan Collins, Hunter Houston, Justin Siniard, and Jerry Hicks serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Tony Baker, Dakota Dula, Ethan Hicks, and Keith Knepp.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Granite Falls First UMC.
