Cathy Denise Brady Gibson, 67, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at her home in Hickory.
Cathy was born January 23, 1955, in Catawba County, NC, to the late Charlie and Pauline Bumgarner Brady. She fought for her life and was a 9 year cancer survivor, who loved traveling, spending time at beaches and mountains, shopping, playing with her grandkids and enjoying the swimming pool and any outdoor activity.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pansy Brady; nephew, Tracy Lee Laney; brothers-in-law, Charles Laney and Ned Turnmyre
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Dee Gibson of the home; son, Kevin Gibson of Hickory; daughters, Ashley Wheeler (Ryan) of Granite Falls, Stephanie Gibson and fiancé Bobby Isaac of Catawba; grandchildren, Gabrielle Gibson, twins, Braelynn and Rylan Wheeler, Bristol Isaac; sisters, Pat Turnmyre of Granite Falls, Brenda Laney of Hickory, Judy Walker (Sonny) of Hudson, Gail Moore (Jim) of Hickory; brothers, Charlie Brady Jr. of Hudson and David Brady (Pauline) of Hudson, brother-in-law, Gary Lee Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 2 to 3 PM at Mackie Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery at 3 PM with Rev. Shawn Davis officiating.

Prayers and so many loving thoughts for the family, Cathy and I were such good friends in High School. We were separated by many family and life obligations, but when we saw each other again we picked up where we left off. She will be missed but remembered every day like we were still teenagers. ?
