Amanda Marie Smith, 34, of Granite Falls passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at her home following a brief illness.
Amanda was born February 23, 1989 in Catawba County to Jearl “Richard” Smith and Deborah Whittington Smith. She previously worked as a lead teacher at Bright Beginnings Child Care and served an active role at Sherry’s Dance Studio where her daughter took classes.
Those preceding her in death include her paternal grandparents, Jearl Smith and Shirley Smith; paternal great grandparents, Plez Smith and Lonia Smith; and maternal great grandparents, George Nichols and Beulah Nichols.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ashton Hollice Smith; daughter, Jaylan Jean Helton; parents, Richard and Deborah Smith of Granite Falls; brother, Christopher Richard Smith and wife Jackie of Hudson; maternal grandparents, Elmer and Ann Guinn of Lenoir; nieces and nephews, Dylan Boyle and wife Kaylee, Ashlynne Smith, and Storm Smith. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Mackie Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Thursday November 30, 2023 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with the Rev. Tony Hamby officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunrise Baptist Church Cemetery.
