Alice Ann Hayes Tate, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at Amorem Hospice Care Center in Valdese following a period of declining health.
Alice was born on September 27, 1934 in Caldwell County to Paul Pinkney Hayes and Grace Virginia Stephens Hayes. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse and was a Nursing Supervisor at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, where she served for over 30 years.
Alice is survived by her three children, Anna Tate Atkin and husband James of Hickory; Laura Tate Samara and Jon Watson of Knightdale; and Jennifer Tate Pierce and husband Doug of Drexel; her grandchildren, Heather Dawn Pierce, Valerie Marie Pierce, and Lindsay Tate Stockton and husband Cole and Robert Ray Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Corbyn Hoke, Ryder Amodeo, Lincoln Champion, and Ozzy Pierce.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday March 2, 2025 in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls, with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Mackie Funeral Service in Granite Falls.
