Stanley Jeffery “Bub” Burns, 64, of Granite Falls, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, as a result of an automobile accident.
Stanley was born March 25, 1959, in Caldwell County. He ran Tough Enough Rodeo for many years and owned and operated Stanley Burns Grading. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and shooting.
Stanley is preceded in death by his mother and father, Talli and Edna Burns, and his biological father, Waver Burns and stepmother, Peggy Burns.
He is survived by his brother, Cloyd Wayne Burns (Aaron Settlemyer); nephews, Landon Burns and Parker Allen; special friend, Gary Scott; and cousin, Rocky Sigmon.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Mackie Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Scott officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mackie Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to Chestnut Hunting Club.

This is my blood brother Stanley Burns. We had the same birth mom Ruby Tripplet Burns, who chose not to keep us when we were babies so we were raised by different families. Around 4 years ago Stanley and I had our first introduction as brother & sister. We shared our life’s journey, our thoughts of the ‘what if’s’ and our excitement of knowing we had blood family. We never were able to meet in person but we still felt a connection. Now due to your unexpected departure Stanley, we are left with still so many unanswered questions about our birth mom’s life and her choices but I will keep searching for us Stanley. We had some fun times as children at Dudley Shoals Elementary School. Life and time separated us as we grew older, but I knew you did a lot of good for our community. I’m so sorry you passed so quickly. I will keep your family in my prayers.
