Curtis Eugene Kiziah, 90, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his home.
Curtis was born in Hickory, NC on November 10, 1932, to Ralph and Flossie Rader Kiziah. He was preceded in death by brothers R. Rader Kiziah, Harley F. Kiziah, and R. Carroll Kiziah and one nephew Stephen E. Kiziah.
Prior to a career with the General Electric Corporation, he served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1955, serving on Battleship USS Saipan.
He is survived by three nieces and six nephews; Denise Kiziah Powell and husband Larry, Sharyn Kiziah Brady, and Allen F. Kiziah of Hickory; Sabrina Kiziah Williams and husband Larry of Claremont, Rex R. Kiziah and wife Barbara, of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffery L. Kiziah and wife Cindy, Todd E. Kiziah, and Bobby L. Kiziah of Granite Falls. He is also survived by eleven great nieces and nephews, 19 great-great nieces and nephews, and three cousins.
Curtis enjoyed boating and water skiing, teaching most nieces, nephews, and their friends the fun of boating and skiing. Prior to retiring to the rocking chair, he also enjoyed bowling, snow skiing, card games, and traveling.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 3 pm at Saint Mathews Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC with Rev. Tony Bradshaw officiating.
