Mary Kate May Withers, 89, of Hudson passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, following a period of declining health.
Mary was born February 22, 1933 in Watauga County to the late Mack May and Ida May.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Winfred Withers; a son, Douglas Evan Withers; and six sisters and three brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian Steven Withers (Gina); daughter, Tina Withers Burdette (Jim); grandchildren, Evan Withers, Ethan Withers, Codi Johnson (Zach), and Austin Burdette (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Ayla Withers, Mason Williams, Easton Burdette, and Addison Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hudson with Pastor Stephen Owen officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Children’s Fund at 1787 Cajah Mountain Rd, Hudson, NC 28638.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
