Charles Douglas Gaines, 58 of Vale passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 following a period of declining health.
Charles was born on April 2, 1964 in Caldwell County to James Douglas Gaines and the late Betty Ann Haigler Beane.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving soul mate of 27 years, Frances Adams; father, James Douglas Gaines and wife, Joyce; stepfather, Glenn Beane; children, Matthew Porter, Charity Nash and husband, Joe, Christa McCoy, Wayne Adams, and Tim Adams; a brother, David Gaines and wife, Melanie; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Glenn C. Hilton, Jr. Memorial Park in Hickory at picnic shelter #2.
The family will be holding a reception with light refreshments.
