Obituary for Gregory Randolph Manuel

Gregory Randolph Manuel, 66, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2022. He passed away in Hickory, North Carolina with his family by his side.

Mr. Manuel was born in Fairfax, SC, to the late Randolph (Jim) and Betty Shellnut Manuel. He was an active member of Mauldin First Baptist Church and enjoyed doing things with his Sunday School group. He was a 1976 graduate of Clemson University, where he received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from Clayton Tile as Vice President in October 2017, after more than 30 years. He enjoyed visiting with his daughters and teaching the grandchildren about fishing, gardening, and all things outdoors. He loved to bow hunt deer and turkey. When he wasn’t in the woods or helping at his hunt club, he was tending to his vegetable and flower gardens with his loyal dog, Fletcher, by his side.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Thompson Manuel.

He is survived by his four daughters, Stephanie Easter (David) of Hickory, NC; Ashley Haselton (Andrew) of LaGrange, KY; Anna Lominac (Kevin) of Franklin, ME; and Caroline Cole (Chris), of Greenville,SC. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Aidan and Mason Easter; Barkley and Clayton Haselton; and Chloe and Charlotte Cole. Surviving sisters are Kim Moredock (Rupert “Doc”) and Kappe Manuel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 19, 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mauldin First Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mauldin First Baptist Youth Ministry at 150 S. Main Street Mauldin,SC 29662.
