Obituary
James Allen “Bub” Hand, Sr, of Hudson, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Our Daddy was an honest and generous man who would give his last dollar to a person in Need. He enjoyed his farm animals and making a fair trade. We know he loved his wife Azalee of 67 years and each of us his family members. James came to know the Lord as a young man in his 30’s and was a faithful member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Sawmills, NC.
Mr. Hand was preceded in death by his son, James Allen hand, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife, Azalee Greene Hand, 3 daughters, Wanda Arrowood (Arnold), Vickie Flanagan (Randy) of Lenoir, NC and Lori Broyhill (Kevin) of Pilot Mountain, NC, 6 grandchildren, Carrie Church, Jimmy Hand, Tracy Payne, Emily Broyhill, Lindsay Evans and James Broyhill; 6 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
The body will lie-in-state at Sunrise Baptist Church on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral will be at 12:00 pm with Pastor Devin Severt and Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Samaritan’s Purse and Caldwell UNC Healthcare for the diligent care of our Daddy.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunrise Baptist Church, 2643 Mission Road, Hudson, NC 28638.
