Fred Richmond "Dick" Keyes

Dick Keyes, 82, of Connelly Springs, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home. He was born August 3, 1938, son of the late Malcolm and Elizabeth Keyes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Vella “Louise” Keyes; one son, Robert Malcolm Keyes Sr; great-grandson, Jennings Luke Schroeder.
Those left to cherish his memory are his second wife of 32 years, Lucia Keyes of the home; brother Mackie Keyes, daughter Marybeth Cardwell and husband Todd, son Clayton Keyes, his daughter-in-law Linda Keyes and Darrell, his step-daughters, Robin Roseman and husband Kenneth; Patty Forbes and husband Joey; grandson Robert Malcolm Keyes Jr and wife Jackie; his granddaughter Kiaya Louise Cardwell-Church and husband William; step-granddaughters, Emily Forbes Schroeder and husband Nick, Madison Elizabeth Roseman and Riley Jo Forbes; great-grandchildren, Kaden Malcolm Church, Makynleigh Rose Church, Finnley Rae Schroeder, Brenner John Schroeder and Robert Malcolm Keyes III and Canine Lacey.
The funeral service will be Monday, February 15, 2021, 3:00 PM at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Mitchell Boughnan officiating. After the service, burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Burke County Hospice & Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
