Obituary

Carolyn Lorraine Shepherd Greene, 76, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was born on April 25, 1944 in Ashe County to the late Roy and Eula Osborne Shepherd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Angela Lynn Stuart and a sister, Brenda Shepherd Blevins.
Carolyn was retired but held several jobs over the years. She had been employed by American & Efird and Bernhardt Furniture Company. She also had been a biscuit maker at Hardees and a cake decorator at Ingles and Food Lion.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, line dancing, going to Myrtle Beach and was a fan of NASCAR and football. She also loved having coffee by her pond watching the hummingbirds and her beautiful roses bloom.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Kenneth Dale Greene; two sons, David C. Stuart and wife Judith and Phillip F. Stuart and wife Carol, two step-children, Dawn Moose and husband Glen, and Nick Greene. She had six grandchildren that she adored; Justin Stuart and wife Olivia, Jordan Stuart and wife Lauren, Emily Stuart Franklin and husband Garrison, Christina Stuart, Miranda Stuart Miller and husband Jordon and Garrett Icard. She also had seven great grandchildren that she was so proud of: Hailey, Jackson, Lainey, Benjamin and Logan Stuart, and Sophie and Emma Miller. She also leaves behind one special sister, Reda Elliott of Ashe County.
Carolyn loved Jesus, was a woman of strong faith and a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC. She was a caring wife, mother, maw maw, sister and friend and she will be missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Silas Creek Baptist Church in the Sexton Family Cemetery in Lansing, NC, conducted by Pastors David Bean and Paul Puett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 30105, or Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Remember making dresses for Carolyn's and Ken's wedding. Seems like a long time ago, but it was just a blink of an eye! My condolences to Ken and all of the family.

Carolyn was a long time friend of mine and I loved her dearly. She had a wonderful sense of humor and we laughed a lot when we were together. She was a special lady and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. I will remember her fondly always. I want to wish Ken and the rest of the family my sincerest condolences. Carolyn was a very good friend to me for a lot of years. I will miss talking with her. I am so thankful that she loved the Lord and I know one day I will see her again. My prayers are with Ken and all of her family.
